VA Focus in the coming months

VA remains in a $6B deficit hole for 2025 health care.  The Biden Administration blamed increased costs in weight loss medicines, inflation in some medical devices and increased utilization of community care.

VA related committees will work quickly to codify access standards, already law, to ensure patients are provided access and educated about opportunities to community providers through the Third-Party Administrator networks.  Chairman Bost in the House is at the ready with his bill.

The Elizabeth Dole Caregivers bill, signed into law last year with wide bipartisan support, will be a huge effort to implement and will affect all areas of the VA including oversight of the recent regulations to meet the needs of caregivers of this population.
